Interfolio employs a rigorous quality control process, digital offsite backups, and a strict policy of never giving out private information to third parties.
The first component of Interfolio security is the technology that protects the data on our systems, both while in transit and in storage. All systems are protected by hardware firewalls that guard against internet-based security threats. Our systems are managed in a monitored data center, secured by keycards and continuous interior and exterior surveillance. We utilize industry-standard SSL encryption to protect all information that is stored and transmitted. Each user also needs a unique username and password to access the Interfolio system.
The second component of Interfolio security is the digital rights management system we employ so users only see the data that they have rights to see. This system has been built specifically for the unique nature of credentials management. We adhere to FERPA standards for data access, validating a user’s rights every time data is accessed. We also log every action taken to ensure a complete audit trail of information. Additionally, we maintain a strict privacy policy that is validated and monitored by TRUSTe, a leading privacy rights management organization.
The third and most important component of our security system is our set of internal policies that maintain data confidentiality. We never share information with third party vendors. Our employees are trained in the best security practices that maintain the strict confidentiality of all information that they come in contact with.
Interfolio relies on an industry leading hosting facility to manage its servers and network. The hosting facility’s “Zero-Downtime Network” ensures that the Interfolio site is constantly accessible to all our users, so that users will always be able to access their data. We also employ a comprehensive backup system to guarantee the availability of all data in the unlikely event of a system failure.
