Keep Calm and Use Interfolio
In 1939, the English government was preparing for the worst. Faced with mounting civilian casualties and unending assaults from German bombers, the Ministry of Information worked diligently to improve public moral through posters, newsreels and radio broadcasts.
One such flyer was designed and printed for distribution throughout urban centers if German troops began an invasion of Britain. The message? Keep Calm and Carry On.
This idea resonates well with those on the academic and professional job market. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment is hovering around 9.6% and it doesn’t look like we will see substantial improvement any time soon.
I’m going to borrow the MI’s principle message and state the importance of remaining composed and positive despite all that is going on around you. Use the tools you have at your disposal; job boards on Inside Higher Ed and the Chronicle, websites like Higher Ed Jobs, advice from your peers at ProfHacker and yes, use Interfolio for your academic job search.

I’ve taken a little bit of liberty and recreated the Keep Calm and Carry On graphic for those considering (and currently) using Interfolio for their job search. The road to your next position of employment may not be an easy one but we’re going to be here every step of the way.
