Online Application Delivery: New Name, Same Feature
When we release a new product feature at Interfolio, we do so knowing that it will evolve a bit over time. We monitor it closely and make tweaks until it matures into something solid. In a way, a new feature is like a newborn baby; it is born with basic traits but until it grows and starts having experiences, you really don’t know anything about its personality.
One feature that has been in the Interfolio nursery for the past year is “Web Delivery”. If you haven’t applied to an online application using Interfolio, I encourage you to give it a whirl. All you need to do is insert your document’s unique Interfolio email address into the place in your application where it asks for your recommender’s email address. Interfolio will receive a message from your application, create a delivery in your account, and alert you that it is ready to be processed.
As little “Web Delivery” grew over the past year, we realized that we kept referring to it as “Online Application Delivery” when describing it to our users. That nickname seemed to make a lot more sense than “Web Delivery” did. After all, what is “web delivery” anyway? Don’t try Googling it – unless you are one of our PhD candidates in Computer Science, it won’t make much sense!
Unlike a baby, this feature won’t be scarred for life if we officially change its name during the formative years. In fact, we think we’re doing it a big favor by making its purpose and process a lot clearer to our users.
Starting today, the official, and new, name of this feature is “Online Application Delivery”.
As a user, you’ll notice copy changes in the product and in the emails we send you; however, the process will work in the exact same way.
Does this mean Online Application Delivery is now an adult member of the Interfolio family? Maybe more like a teenager, but we promise the feature won’t talk back to you or borrow your car. Most importantly, it will continue to meet its deadlines whenever asked.
