Letter Writers > You've Been Asked to Write a Letter > What/Where is the unique document ID?

The unique document ID is a six-digit number/letter combination that represents a Fileholder account, a letter writer and a document placeholder.

Writers will find this ID located in the body of the emailed letter writing request and on the paper Request Form.

When Writers submit letters to the Interfolio system by electronic upload, they will be asked to provide the unique document ID from their letter writing request before they upload their letter.

If a Fileholder has sent you a letter writing request but you are having trouble locating the document ID, please view the letter writing request samples below.  We have circled the document IDs on these samples to help you locate the document IDs on your request.
