Many admissions offices and hiring committees prefer (and some require) the letter of recommendation to be signed. That is why we encourage you to insert a digital picture of your signature.
1. Create your own:
Your IT department on campus may be able to help you create a digital picture of your signature. We recommend saving the image as a .gif file. Save this image onto your computer so you can insert it into any word processed document you wish to sign, including letters you plan to upload to Interfolio.
If you do not have the ability to create a .gif file of your signature, Interfolio can help. Please go to the “My Signature” section of your account and choose one of the following:
2. Mouse2Sig:
The quickest way to upload your signature is through our innovative service, mouse2sig. In the “My Signature” section, you can create a copy of your signature using the mouse, and it will be instantly available to you.
3. Fax2Sig:
We understand that the mouse2Sig method is not for everyone, so we also offer fax2sig. In “My Signature” section, you will find instructions for how to fax us your signature that we will convert into an elctronic/ digital format.
Remember, once you have created a digital picture of your signature using one of these methods, you must insert the signature into your word processed document before uploading the letter to Interfolio.
