Christopher M Osborne
PhD Candidate in History
I have had an interest in learning about the past since the first lesson on the Aztecs in my fifth grade social studies class. This interest matured during my years at Kittanning High School into a determination to become a student of history. Each stop along my educational path -- Grove City College, Kent State University, and currently the University of Notre Dame -- has further refined this goal. I am on track to complete my doctoral dissertation, "Written into the West: Print, Personality, and the Envisioned Western Country, 1780-1830," during the Spring 2010 semester, after which I hope to encourage more students of history as a teacher and researcher at the collegiate level. Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, I currently reside in Pittsburgh with my wife Maria. I enjoy traveling, walking and biking, and watching sports (the Steelers, of course, though baseball is my first love).
