As an officer in the USAF, I was able to gain expertise in a number of areas in a short amount of time. During my stint, I had two major jobs: Section Commander of the 493d Fighter Squadron in Lakenheath, England and the Chief of Global Hawk Curriculum Development at Beale AFB.
As a Section Commander and Budget Advisor in the 493d, I was responsible for managing $5.6M worth of flying, deployment and squadron funds, as well as managing all personnel programs and policies. I also had the distinct pleasure of analyzing the performance of 62 employees in order to make promotion recommendations and enforcing proper disciplinary measures for all squadron subordinates.
When I made the transition from overseas to stateside, I was in charge of the education and training team responsible for reviewing Global Hawk aircraft curriculum prior to its implementation in the pilots' academic courses. In short, I had to ensure proper analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum, and guarantee that the contracted vendor complied with the standards mandated by the government.
My military background provided a strong foundation in the areas of leadership, integrity and responsibility and I am grateful for the knowledge and experience I attained during my years of service.
