Since 1998, I've been working to support individuals with developmental disabilities in order to help them attain the best quality of life.
I find great satisfaction in helping others, which is why I spent a great deal of time providing social service.
In 2007, I worked as a Service Coordinator at ACRC in order to assist consumers and their families acquire ongoing support services such as: vocational training, mental health services, independent living training, medical care and housing. I also served as an advocate for each individual and represented them as needed with legal matters.
From 1998 until 2003, I served as the Activities Director and Office Manager of Mason's Group Home, a facility dedicated to the care of persons with developmental disabilities. During that time, I formed a close bond with many of the individuals there, and continue to share that bond with them today.
Responsibility-wise, I cared for 14 individuals, helping them communicate more efficiently, both orally and written, to help them achieve the skills needed to live independently.
