Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Rice University; Research Fellow, The Center for Ethics & Public Affairs, Tulane University

I'm a philosopher of law, ethics, and society. My interest in the philosophy of law includes general jurisprudence (the nature of laws and legal systems) and particular legal fields such as contracts and state punishment), as well as constitutional law and theory. My interest in ethics is primarily normative: the normative factors and foundations of ethics. Finally, I'm interested in social philosophy: how do social institutions such as promises work.
