According to Betsy Schaffer (personal communications, April 7, 2009), there are three types of students): Prisoners, those who do not want to be here; Vacationers, those who are along for the ride; and Sponges, those who are serious students. My job is to soak the sponges while converting the prisoners and the vacationers into sponges.
