Rachel Lehman

User Experience Designer and ColdFusion/Flex Developer

My career in design started in 1999 when I began handling small print design projects for my employer at the time. I had a long standing interest in art and computers, and was attending graphic design classes in school. This interest quickly grew into my full time job, where I also started taking on substantial web design and development projects. When I left that position after nearly seven years, I was the Creative Director with my own team of designers.

I moved on to a one-woman marketing department position where I handled marketing, design and internal software development at a small business lender. There I grew and developed my programming skills, expanding on my ColdFusion knowledge and learning Flex. I also became more involved in the ColdFusion development community, speaking at user groups and attending conferences.

There came a point where I decided that user experience design and development (not so much marketing) were my passion, so I accepted a position with Interfolio where I can now specialize in these interests, and work no longer feels like work.

In my spare time I love to cook and bake, read, enjoy movies, and I still spend quite a bit of time on the internet studying web design and keeping up with technology.

T-Shirts

I've enjoyed the opportunity to design several brand t-shirts, a challenge which I try to approach with creativity. Rather than just using a logo or tag line, I've attempted to create t-shirts that a discriminating recipient might actually wear and appreciate, which ultimately means more exposure for the brand on the shirt. Personal Design Projects

Planning my own wedding gave me several opportunities to flex my design muscles, and often in ways outside my typical job description. This page highlights some images of the results.

I chose a "cherry blossom" or sakura theme for our wedding, with colors inspired by them: chocolate brown and pale pink. Since Adam and I grew up in the D.C. area, we both enjoy Japanese culture, and the Sakura is an omen of good fortune, it made a perfect wedding theme. Full Page
