Private university selects Interfolio platform for streamlined efficiency

Jacksonville, Fla. —July 21, 2021 — Jacksonville University, Northeast Florida’s premier private university, announced today the launch of a new digital platform to enable a standardized and efficient process for faculty annual review, promotion, and tenure decisions.

Jacksonville University is partnering with Interfolio, creator of the Faculty Information System, to implement its Review, Promotion & Tenure module, which will establish digital, standardized faculty evaluation processes across all departments and schools. This investment in innovation is the result of a collaborative effort led by the University’s Faculty Affairs Committee, chaired by Dr. Kimberly Beasley.

Previously, faculty compiled paper documents and completed multiple forms to submit their academic accomplishments. With these cumbersome approaches, the format and scope of materials being reviewed varied widely. A digital platform will ensure consistency and compliance with new campus-wide guidelines, improving efficiency and equity. Additionally, the processes for annual evaluations, tenure, and promotion will be easier and clearer for faculty members, committees, and administrators.

“We wanted a system that enables a consistent, transparent evaluation process for our talented faculty and signals to prospective hires that we have strong faculty-centered software systems in place,” says Dr. Will Miller, Jacksonville University’s Executive Director of Institutional Analytics, Effectiveness, and Strategic Planning. “With this investment in Interfolio, we are supporting our faculty’s success, giving them additional resources and freeing up their time for teaching, research, and service.”

The adoption of this new technology will support Jacksonville University’s accreditation review as well, providing a digital way to execute against the new, systemized standards developed by the Faculty Affairs committee.

“Our solutions are designed to make life easier for faculty and administrators,” said Andrew Rosen, CEO of Interfolio. “The more we streamline and simplify administrative tasks for faculty members, the more time they have for what they do best: teaching, advising and research. Empowering faculty this way is especially important at a school like Jacksonville University, which combines a University’s breadth of academic offerings with the close student-faculty interaction of a small college.”
