Faculty Data

Leading faculty information system announces first-ever partnership with the most open, connected, and enriched research database to enable scholars and universities to track and demonstrate research impact

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 4, 2020 – Interfolio, creator of the leading Faculty Information System used by hundreds of higher education institutions worldwide, today announced a partnership with Dimensions from Digital Science, a linked research information database containing more than 150 million publications, datasets, grants, patents, clinical trials, citations and metrics. With this integration, Interfolio expands its support for both individual faculty members and higher education institutions.

Part of the Digital Science family of products, Dimensions’ philosophy of open data for the research community has made it a pivotal player in the research ecosystem. Bringing the Dimensions data source into Interfolio’s Faculty Information System provides scholars using Interfolio greater ease and access to existing publication and grant information, which in turn allows them to more easily showcase an even fuller range of their academic work to their institution. Institutions, with this accurate hub of academic data validated by faculty members, can make data-driven decisions around budget, institutional collaborations, accreditation, and more. Dimensions joins existing Interfolio data partners, including ORCID, OCLC, PubMed, Clarivate, Elsevier, Canadian Common CV, Explorance, and Process Pathways.

“Dimensions leads the field in balancing rich, connected data sources—moving beyond publications into a broader spectrum of scholarly inputs and outputs—with the needs of the academic community,” said Andrew Rosen, CEO of Interfolio. “By prioritizing the open sharing of research data and insights, Dimensions makes not only our Faculty Information System stronger, but the entire research community more robust as well.”
