International business school implements Interfolio to recruit leading academic talent

Shenzhen, Guangdong, China —July 7, 2021 — Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS), a graduate-level business school in Shenzhen, China, announced today that it is adopting the Faculty Search platform offered by Interfolio, creator of the Faculty Information System.

Using the Faculty Search module, institutions can publish a publicly accessible landing page for each faculty position and list them all on a clean, searchable, auto-generated job board. In addition, the platform enables an online electronic workflow for the whole academic recruitment process, including applications and committee review. The cloud-based software also ensures that letters are kept confidential and that diversity data is collected and can be reported.

“Before adopting Faculty Search, academic recruitment was a time-consuming process in which we did everything manually,” says Alice Yun, who coordinates faculty and staff recruitment at PHBS. “Relying on email and Excel to track hundreds of applications was difficult, and we had to hire teaching assistants to help. But with Faculty Search, we’ve saved so much time.”

Additionally, Yun cited how critical it was that Interfolio is well known and trusted by international applicants, since PHBS is the most internationalized Chinese national business school.

“When you’re competing for top tier international scholars, and you are using historic manual hiring processes, we have found that institutions are at great risk of losing great candidates to institutions that move faster using streamlined digital capabilities,” explains Andrew Rosen, CEO of Interfolio. “Faculty Search makes academic recruitment simple and efficient, so that institutions can find strong candidates, make a great first impression and move quickly to build strong academic teams.”

Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) was founded in 2004 with the vision to advance Peking University’s involvement in global economics, finance, and management research. With internationalization as its goal, PHBS has been accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EFMD, and taken a bold step by opening a new campus in Oxfordshire, England.
